ELROY, TEXAS --- As of Thursday, June 07, 2012, there are 163 days until opening day of the Circuit of the Americas Grand Prix race at the Formula 1 track in Elroy.?
However according to Steve Sexton, President of Circuit of the Americas there are still thousands of job openings.
?
?Fifty to sixty salaried, 23-hundred full time and around 3-thousand plus on major event days,? said Sexton to KVUE regarding F1 job openings locally.
?
According to their website, C.O.T.A. has openings in Accounting, Finance, Administration, General Management, Communications, Community Relations, Facility Operations, Event Staff, Legal, Retail, Concessions, Sales and Marketing and Technical Services.

?In Idaho there's like no jobs at all. You can't find a job anywhere but over here I hear that there's a lot of job offers,? said 18-year old Rosa Garcia who moved to Elroy from Idaho a month ago to be with family and to look for a job.

While many of the F1 jobs are for major events Sexton made it clear that the Formula 1 race is one of many happenings at the track.

?I'll stress again Circuit of the Americas is just not Formula 1 alone.?We hear F1 a lot.?The race this is Fall is Formula 1 United States Grand Prix but in fact we're talking about 4 or 5 major motor sports events a year, an Amphitheater, a lot of uses for community events, festivals, runs, bike races I mean this is a year round multi-purpose facility.?It's not just about one major race per year,? said Sexton who added that the F1 track could bring in 400-million dollars annually.
